FBF: Millionaire's Office

Before we moved to Canada in 2013 we had a really great group of friends in Sydney. The kind of group that gels well together, has you falling off your chair laughing and going home with a sore stomach from laughing so hard (or most often not, drinking too hard as well). Anyway, one night over drinks we developed a concept for a sitcom. I'm not really exactly sure how it came about...I only remember that I cried laughing when we bounced episode ideas around. I promised to go away and flesh it out - but I only got as far as a show summary and a brief rundown of the main characters. But in honour of Flashback Friday, below is that overview. And to keep my promise, I'm going to attempt to write some more over the coming weeks. Posts to come (I hope). DISCLAIMER: This may be best enjoyed after a bottle of vino or two Summary A disenchanted advertising team form a lottery syndicate, and on their very first draw, win $50 Million dollars each. Initially, everybody plans to quit and live off their winnings, fulfilling lifelong dreams. Fry Zee however, fearing his wife will invest in even more of the creepy porcelain dolls she collects and displays all over their home and office, convinces the team to continue working and to hide their new found wealth from his wife (who is also their boss), Mrs Green. Making the task of deception slightly easier, is the fact that Mrs Green is incredibly gullible. The challenge of adjusting to their new financial status, whilst continuing to work their mundane jobs, ensures there is never a dull moment in the “Millionaires Office” (working title). Main Characters Fry-Zee - a blokey bloke who enjoys the finer things in life such as meat pies, flannel shirts and footy. Fry Zee is a salesman by nature and has an uncanny ability to talk his co-workers into almost anything. Mrs Green (Kiara) - Fry Zee’s wife, who also happens to be the teams manager. Whilst incredibly gullible, Mrs Green is incredibly stern with her under performing team, especially her husband. Iven - a self styled GQ model type who constantly jumps on to emerging trends (mostly ridiculous ones), experiments (too) boldly with fashion & on occasion thinks he’s a black man. Forshaw - an aspiring stand up comedian who’s primary hobbies are stalking women and playing “Magic” - sometimes at the same time. Ray - the token nerdy, money conscious asian who, despite his new found wealth, continues to barter & ask for deals on everything from his $5 Dim Sum lunches to his new, fuel efficient Honda Civic. Damien - a german expat who inadvertently makes everybody’s life more difficult due to the language barrier and his inability to shake off his odd German ways. Lisa - a quirky, environmentally friendly hipster girl who refuses to use a computer, instead using etch a sketches & view masters for client presentations.
